OVERVIEW for May 2024 Hybrid Course

  • May 11 - 14… 8am-9pm Online using the Zoom platform

  • May 15…No Class ***(Georgia Students 7-9 PM Zoom for Georgia Law)

  • May 16 - 18…8am - 9pm - In person in Greenville, SC

  • May 19…8am - Noon - Exam and Graduation. The exam is taken on the last day of class. Students’ names and information who complete the session and pass the exam are sent to each student’s state board or commission.


Entrance Requirements:

A high school diploma or its equivalent is recommended to register for the school. The recommended age is 18 but younger students may be accepted if accompanied by an adult or with written permission to the school from a parent or guardian. Being able to complete simple math is recommended to complete the course.

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

Most state Auctioneer Licensing Commissions required a person to be 18 years are older to sit for the state auctioneers’ exams. Some states require a person to be an apprentice in addition to school, and some states do not require an auctioneering school or apprenticeship. Please check with your state Auctioneer Licensing Commissions to understand the requirements for the state you would like to obtain an auctioneer license. You should become familiar with your state's requirements.


Dress: Face-to-Face Sessions

  • Dress for the classes should be generally informal and comfortable.

  • Closed-toe shoes are required when traveling to field trips and the student auction.

  • Dress clothes are worn for the graduation and class photo (a coat and tie are required for men). These photos are provided for publication in the national (NAA) and various association magazines.

  • Dress for online classes should be generally informal and comfortable. Casual Dress Shirt and Pants.

Calculator (phone may be used for calculations)

CONDUCT: Online or Face to Face

We expect all students to respect all others, instructors, and administrators during their time in the course. Failure to do this will be cause for termination. Students will be terminated when school officials determine a conduct issue warrants and will not be allowed to re-enter.

Drinking alcoholic beverages, drug use (except by prescription), gambling, and defacing of property is strictly prohibited at all times and can result in dismissal with no refund.


ATTENDANCE:

If registered for a session, all students are required to complete the full session of the course at that time. Leaving the class early, or habitual tardiness will not be allowed and might result in the removal of the course. The Director will review the student's situation to determine that conditions warrant re-entry and that the student can benefit by repeating the course.


GRADING:

The minimum grade considered satisfactory is 75. All students will be required to take an end-of-course exam and pass with a 75 or better. Check with your state’s Auctioneer Licensing Commission to inquire about their passing exam grade from the school you are attending.

This is a short, intense course of 8 days, and students who make unsatisfactory grades will not receive a diploma. However, students will be permitted to return for another term without further tuition and fee. The Director will review the student's situation to determine that conditions warrant re-entry and that the student can benefit by repeating the course.

When the course is satisfactorily completed, students will be issued a diploma. The Southeastern School of Auctioneering will keep permanent records of graduations and student achievement for a minimum of 3 years.

The Southeastern School of Auctioneering does not give credit for prior education not associated with the school.

PROBATION:

There is no probationary period during the course.


GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

Each student who successfully attends 8 days (10 days required for some states) of the school, abides by the rules of the Southeastern School of Auctioneering, and receives a grade of 75 or better on the end-of-course exam will receive a diploma on the last day of school at graduation.


Tuition:

Tuition for the course is $1295.00. There is an enrollment fee of $100 that is non-refundable. However, the deposit can be used for the next school session if attendance to the session the deposit was made could not be attended.

REFUND POLICY:

A refund of the unused portion of tuition will be made to eligible persons who fail to enter or fail to complete the course. The refund will be pro-rated.

If the student requests termination during the first three days of the term, the exact pro-rate unused portion of his or her tuition will be refunded. After the third day, no refund will be made. To qualify for a refund the student must notify the school administration in writing during the second day of the term.

Refunds will be issued through the site the payment was received. It will be refunded to the credit or debit card used for payment. If a check was mailed for tuition, a check will be issued to the name written on the check. Please allow 14 days for the refund to be issued.
